My accomplishments and a Monkey update

Where has the time gone? It seems like I just blinked and it was Thursday.  Since I haven't posted in a week, I am going to forgo my usual Tell the truth Thursday.  I have some exciting news to share with all of you as well as an update on Monkey.

So, on to my news.  I haven't really been paying attention to my weight since I have been on-again/off-again exercising.  I haven't noticed a change in my clothes, so I just figured I was staying the same.  Well, I weighed myself Saturday morning and found out that I have lost 6 pounds!  That's right, count them..1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6!!!!!!!!!!  I can't tell you how excited I am about this.  I know that it is just a drop in the bucket compared to what I really need to lose, but it has helped me get a little more motivated.  I even went skating with the huz Saturday night.  I didn't make it the whole session thanks to it being that time of the month, but I held my own.

Also, I decided to take the girls for a bit of a walk yesterday.  It was absolutely beautiful here yesterday.  Sunny and in the 60-70 degree range.  I also had to go get a prescription for Monkey so I thought that I would just walk to the store and back.  It's not that far, so off we went.  I took a bottle of water and my ipod to keep me going.  The double stroller is a great stroller even if it is a little large.  It was so easy to push on our walk.  The store is all downhill so it was great.  It took about 25 minutes or so to get there.  I got the prescription and then it was time to come back home.  All. up. hill.!

I only stopped once going up the hill!  The hill is about 5 blocks so I thought that was pretty good.  When we finally got back home, Monkey wanted to walk some more so I decided we could go see her Pop (The huz's dad) and then walk back.  By the time we got to Pop's it had started to get a little chilly so I borrowed a towel for Mouse.  I was afraid that she was getting too cold and I had only brought one blanket for her.  We stopped and visited for about 20 minutes and then we were off again.  When I got home, my legs were jelly.  All in all I walked and pushed the stroller for 2.8 miles!!!  I am pretty proud of myself.  Today, however, my legs are thanking me for the workout by trying to give out when I try to get out of the chair!  I will show them, it is going to be another 3 mile walk tonight.  Unless the weather holds out, then it will be this afternoon with the girls.  I think they liked it yesterday and who am I to deny them what they like?

As for Monkey, we had to take her to the allergist on Tuesday.  We thought that she was going to be allergic to raw eggs.  She's not actually.  We found out that she is allergic to peanuts!  So shocked by that.  Now we are an epi-pen carrying family. *sigh*  For her full update, click here.

  1. Good for you! Hip Hip Hooray! That's awesome! Hopefully you will have lots of beautiful spring days to walk with M&M. By the way...."Bob" mentioned the other day that he thinks you look thinner! So how's that for incentive!

  5. Glad that you had a good walk there. A journey of a thousand mile starts with the first step. You have started now, just keep it going and continue to enjoy walks like that with your girls.
